First meeting of 2011!!!

What a fantastic meeting everyone, we got a lot done and I'm excited about the new year.  We need to do a lot of fund raising and that requires that we get Winona students excited about our fund raising ventures and get them excited about helping others.  We have chosen to build a well in Sierre Leone which is on the west coast of Africa.  It is a country with an amazing history and we will be learning a lot about it throughout the year.  Our goal is to raise $5,000.00- that's a lot of money so we need to get busy.

Here are the things that we need to do.  Please add a comment to the blog and tell us what you are going to do to make this an exciting assembly!!!

  7. I’m in the research group and here are facts about Sierra Leone:
Due to the polluted supply of water, diseases like cholera and swine flu have been a common epidemic scare.
They are slowly beginning to re-establish democracy after the civil war from 1991-2002

    Sites: http://www.worldpress.org/Africa/3365.cfm, http://www.prideoflionsfilm.com/facts.html ,
I’ll find some more to post.
